Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus)

Pheasants are one of the UK's most colourful birds. Introduced here by the Romans, they are now widespread. They feed on a diet of seeds, berries and insects, preferring a habitat of wooded agricultural lowland which can provide both roosting sites and this wide variety of provisions.
